Franklin

This is my friend Franklin and he was my first project for my foundries class. As far back as I can remember I have always imagined monsters or different creatures. This is the first time I have taken one of my creatures and brought them into our physical realm. Variations of franklin have manifested themselves through small doodles and sketches for many years. This particular version was inspired by the Pale Man in Pan’s Labyrinth. The Pale man’s lanky malnourished body is what I found most intriguing. The way his body was slow and jerky movements, I feel that Franklin would have the same problem moving.

So this is what came about from my imagination to the physical manifestation. The piece is made of casted bronze. Full resolution at Flickr.
